Setup 2: I connected Behringer UMA25S USB Audio/Midi controller along with MX61 via USB ports in my laptop and I used in Cubase “Behringer USB Audio” driver as VST Audio System. With this setup only MIDI data can be recorded from MX and audio can be recorded from mic. Both of these drivers have as input port connections Realtec Microphone and as output port connections Realtec speakers (Realtec is the audio card of my laptop). Setup 1: I used “ASIO DirectX Full Duplex Driver” or “Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver” as VST Audio System in Cubase and hooked up the mic directly in my laptop’s mic input. I managed to make a normal mic (not a USB one) to work with the following two setups in Cubase AI6 (and SONAR X3). I never have and would not anticipate doing so (I’m so old school when it comes to mic and mic preamps). If they don’t know, try contacting Steinberg via your MySteinberg account - I’m sure they are aware of the best way to connect USB microphones to Cubase. Settings for most pro recording software is done inside the program itself. Sure setting it up for use with Windows is probably plug and play, but how about setting up to use it inside a DAW. Go to the AudioTechnica website and ask about setting up the microphone inside of a DAW. I guess what I’m asking is, is it even possible to use within a DAW? What does it use as a driver… Or is it just a generic Windows device. Have you setup to use it inside of Cubase previous to using the MX? Seems that this should be possible, I read there “manual” and it says nothing about setting it up inside a DAW. I have no idea what you are supposed to do with that microphone, or even if you can use it inside a DAW.

Please contact AudioTechnica about how to set up to use the microphone in a DAW. Marking them all will cause you problems down the road. You should only mark Port 1... In the “In All MIDI Inputs” column. I can tell you you have the MIDI ports setup incorrectly for the MX.ĭEVICES > DEVICE SETUP > MIDI > MIDI PORT SETUP > please unmark ports 2-5. Sorry, I cannot help you with AudioTechnica.
